Pennsylvania is one of just seven states that elects ALL Judges in partisan elections. Because of this, we have an opportunity to drastically reshape the judiciary and justice is on the ballot this year. With the current President’s willingness to buck the courts to accomplish his Project 2025 agenda, it is CRITICAL that we keep Judges who will protect our rights and not bow down to billionaires and corporations who harm our neighbors .

Why Pennsylvania’s Courts Matter to You

PA’s highest courts are our literally our last line of defense for our freedoms and futures.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is the highest court in the Commonwealth and hears cases that impact all Pennsylvanians.  The Courts play a crucial role in our lives, often having the final say on election issues, criminal justice matters, environmental rules, sentencing guidelines, and ensuring equal treatment and justice for all.

In PA, judges are elected to lifetime terms subject then after 10 years voters make a “Yes” or “No” vote to retain them (retention vote) for another 10-year term on the general election ballot. It is a nonpartisan ballot question with no challenger/opponent and no political affiliations listed on the ballot. It is a simple Yes or No Vote.

Supreme Court:

Justice Christine Donohue

Justice Kevin Dougherty

Justice David Wecht

Superior Court:

Judge Alice Dubow

Commonwealth Court:

Judge Michael Wojcik

Over the past couple of years we have seen the importance of having Judges who not only understand the law but also the impacts of rulings on the community. As local courts are the first to administer justice, defend rights, uphold democracy, and protect our people, it is imperative for our justice slate to reflect those values.” – Miracle Jones, Legislative Director, 1Hood Power
